Love My Saturdays

Today is Saturday. I usually start my day treasure hunting at garage sales, but today I was a little sleepy so I just stayed home and cleaned my sewing room and made a few new fall items. I am getting some requests for Razorback items so I did a new hooded towel and a tote bag to get inspired. Having a clean cutting table and floor makes a world of difference on how fast the projects go, but it will be no time before it's all to do again. Anyone that sews can relate to that. Summer is almost over and the grands will return to school in a few days. I will miss the older ones terribly but will make it up with more sleep overs. Some are looking forward to it but there are a few who had rather have summer vacation all year round, won't mention any names. As I do "hog" items in the next few weeks, I will be keeping Christmas in mind as it will be here far too soon. I need some inspiration for that too. Here are my football inspired projects for this week and a St. Louis set I did for a sweet great newphew that joined our family this week.

Things Will Be a Little Different Today

The week has been rather long to me. I have cleaned, straightened and thrown away everyday, yet when I went to bed Thursday night it seemed I had not done anything productive all week. I made up my mind today would be different. Instead of doing all those things again on Friday, I would do the most necessary things like eat and spend the majority of the day doing whatever my grandchildren want to do. I started the day letting my new chickens out of there cute little cottage. I had some coffee in hand and just admired them until the unsual cool morning temperatures encouraged me to go back inside and write on my blog. It is 6:30 AM and the kids will be arriving in about an hour. What to do today will be up to them. I attended my sweet nieces college graduation party last night. The center tablescape was awesome, food absolutely fantastic and great fellowship with family and friends. So many blessings I can't count them all. It is amazing how one person can make a statement that puts some unsettled thoughts into perspective. This is a good thing in this case. I would tell you who said it, but I will make you wonder who....maybe it was you :). Always be mindful of your words, God may be using you today. Well, I need to finish my coffee and maybe have another before my sweeties arrive...wish us luck today as we just kick back and play. Praying a good day for all, don't forget to take a break for fun. Here is a picture of the awesome, vintage tablescape last night...
